Moegatle 4×4 trial was started by Alex Fullard in July 2002. Alex’s strive to create a fun-filled 4×4 experience, memories with friends and family and a better quality of life. All of this developed when the Minister of Environmental Affairs prohibition 4×4 driving on the beaches and Alex was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
The Moegatle 4×4 route is rated a 2 to 5 and is referred to as one of South Africa’s 3 terror trails.
Situated on the property of the Mpudung Community. The Moegatle 4×4 trails are challenging and adventurous off-road trails that tests the driver and the vehicle to the limit. It is 30 km from Brits towards Thabazimbi on the Veekraal / Dikhololo road turn-off. The trial includes all types of driving situations and offers an unusual combination of loose and solid rock, sand, mud , and water.
Moegatle 4×4 trail is home to the infamous huge rock face “Koos se Klim”. This rock is hellishly intimidating and makes for a more challenging 4×4 adventure. “Koos se klim” is what gives Moegatle 4×4 trail a terror trail rating. The locals of the area call the huge rock – TSOGWE – the “Unbelievable Rock”. There are other many exiting obstacles along the route. “God se pad” and “Klipdrift” is two of the other grade 5 rated obstacles that you can test vehicle and braveness.
The Moegatle 4×4 trail does not only offer the option of driving one of the terror trails in South Africa. It offers so much more: Game drives, Abundance of wildlife and Bird-watching, bush bar, variety of accommodation options and a beginning of a long friendship.
